Abstract

The evolution of Islamic jurisprudence over time has led to the development of diverse approaches, methodologies, and interpretations. Today, differences in opinion within Islamic jurisprudence are often influenced by efforts to reconstruct traditional jurisprudential frameworks that may no longer adequately address contemporary issues, such as those related to masculinity. This study focuses on one of the modern works in Islamic jurisprudence, Al-Fiqh Al-Islami wa Adillatuhu, authored by Wahbah Al-Zuhayli (1932-2015 AD). In this work, Al-Zuhayli seeks to bridge the gap between classical and contemporary jurisprudence, driven by the belief that traditional interpretations may fall short in addressing current challenges. By integrating classical interpretations with contemporary methods, Al-Zuhayli aims to maintain consistency in his approach. This paper explores various aspects of his jurisprudential contributions to provide insights into his methodology.
