Overview of Tarikh Ferishta ”تاریخ فرشتہ “ کا اجمالی جائزہ

Abstract

This paper contains a brief overview of Muhammad Qasim Farishta's popular special and general historical documentary works. In this paper, a brief outline of the literary, political, social, and geographical status and importance of Tarikh Farishta has been presented. Keeping in view the Urdu translation of Mushfiq Khawaja, a context of this work has been identified by connecting it with the author's biography as a context. Also, the author's rules, regulations, and procedures for editing the year-wise history of all the rulers of the subcontinent have also been analyzed. This paper is a preliminary attempt to introduce Muhammad Qasim Farishta as a historian of Urdu literature.
