Abstract

Urdu is a language with mixed temperament and multilingual influences. It is the most popular language of South Asia. Urdu, like a fertile and developing language, has taken advantage of the developed eastern languages of the world during its formative stages. Due to this borrowing, Urdu has the flavor and reflection of Eastern languages. Arabic is a religious language and Persian is a language of culture and power, which influenced Urdu the most. Since the Turkish was mother tongue of the Mughals, it was imperative to influence Urdu during the reign of Mughals; however, due to Persian being the language of court, government affairs and education, its effects were relatively less is depicted.
