Abstract

In the present era, the sustainability of agriculture is a critical issue, particularly in light of challenges posed by climate change, population growth, and dwindling resources. Initiating agricultural campaigns has become imperative to ensure future food security and to devise solutions for ongoing agricultural challenges. This article draws guidance from the teachings and practical measures of Hazrat Umar ibn Al-Khattab (R.A.), the second caliph of Islam, whose governance included innovative approaches to organized land management. His strategies offer valuable lessons for contemporary agricultural policies and practices. Through historical analysis and current case studies, the article highlights the importance of Hazrat Umar's (R.A.) practical wisdom in addressing modern agricultural challenges. His reforms in land distribution, equitable water allocation, and support for farmers remain highly relevant today. Hazrat Umar's agricultural principles serve as a model for tackling contemporary agricultural issues effectively. The objective of this article is to underscore the need to reapply these historical practical teachings in current contexts, thereby ensuring the sustainability of agriculture with certainty.
